Laura Gottfried graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in Philosophy. She completed her Montessori training at CMTE at the College of New Rochelle in 1995. Laura taught at the 3-6 level for seven years, and the 6-9 level for three years. She subsequently completed coursework in programs based on the Orton-Gillingham method of reading and writing intervention. In 2006 Laura became a practitioner of the School’s Attuned Program designed by Dr. Mel Levine. This process guides educators in using observable phenomena to understand how students interact with the demands of school and to make decisions about improving school performance based on this understanding. This summer Laura completed coursework on referring and diagnosing the learning different child at the Shelton School in Dallas, Texas.
