Marjorie Hoffman
Art 9 - 14 year olds
Marjorie Hoffman holds a BFA from Cooper Union, an MS in Elementary Education from City College of New York and an MS in Special Education from Bank Street College. She is certified as an art teacher, grades 1 through 12, and an elementary and special education teacher. Marjorie has been working in the arts and teaching since 1970. Among the positions she held before following her daughter to Montessori are: arts educator at several children's museums; woodworking teacher at Fieldston Lower School in NYC; and graduate instructor at Bank Street College. She is presently a columnist for the Ithaca Child and serves on the boards of Temple Beth El, Hillel at Ithaca College and the Ithaca Area United Jewish Community, where she is campaign chair. Marjorie feels blessed to be part of three generations of family artists. Her mother was a ceramicist and art teacher and her two daughters have continued the tradition by exploring their own artistic paths.
