At EACMSI, we prepare students to think critically, express effectively, and make connections between disparate strains of information, skills they will need as future citizens ready to make meaningful contributions to the world around them. At EACMSI, academic rigor, though an integral part of every student’s daily experience, is not an end in itself. Instead, academics serve our mission.
Our academic program delivers a transformational educational experience grounded in Montessori pedagogy. We start with how the universe came to be and examine every aspect of life on earth thereafter: first from a micro level with our youngest students, then on a macro level as the children age, and finally, when they are able, our oldest students cycle freely between the micro and the macro, synthesizing with confidence.
Our academic program delivers a transformational educational experience grounded in Montessori pedagogy.
At EAC we harness the power of our students imaginations and make learning come alive through story, scientific experiments, discussion and debate
At EACMSI school is not separate from life; school and life are one.
All upper-level students participate in band, chorus, or both.
Cornerstone elements of STEAM education are identical to elements of the Montessori Method.
At EACMSI, we prepare students to think critically.
Academic disciplines are fully integrated and arise from their relationship to the larger story of our curriculum. Botany and biology emanate from the study of evolution, for instance. The study of early humans leads to examining the role of geography in determining the formation of early civilizations, for another.
Educate through imagination
We harness the power of our students imaginations and make learning come alive through story, scientific experiments, discussion and debate. Connections and relationships are discovered and become the genesis for the next area of study.
Understanding the relationship between humans and the rest of being is of primary importance. What role have humans played over the course of history? What impact have the innovations of our ancestors had on the ever developing universe? How do those innovations continue to impact us today?
Academic disciplines thus taught, fully integrated and related to one another, result in an academic program that is steeped in real life relevance. School is not separate from life; school and life are one.
‘No matter what we touch, an atom, or a cell, we cannot explain it without knowledge of the wide universe… How did it come into being? How will it end? The laws governing the universe can be made interesting and wonderful to the child, more interesting even than things in themselves, and [he] begins to ask: What am I? What is the task of man in this wonderful universe? Do we merely live here for ourselves, or is there something more for us to do? Why do we struggle and fight? What is good and evil? Where will it all end?” ~ Dr. Montessori

Schedule a Classroom Observation
The best way to get a sense of who we are and how we do things is to observe a classroom in action.
Cornerstone elements of STEM education are identical to elements of the Montessori Method for over 100 years. Hands-on, personalized, and project-based learning.
What is Cosmic Curriculum?
Curricula that gives the children an impression of the universal whole and an understanding of the interrelatedness between humans and all species. As peacemakers of the future, children are educated to be citizens of the world who find ways to live in social, cultural, and environmental harmony. Cosmic Curriculum is the “how” and “why” of an EAC elementary education.
