EACMSI Afterschool Program

We ask that currently enrolled families review our After School care policies and register via the password protected level pages.

The EAC After School Program runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. when school is in session. Please note that during our all staff development meetings, we do not offer After School care; therefore, there will be no After School program on 10/22/19, 1/28/20 and 3/31/20.

The After School program consists of 3 mini-programs based on class placement: Primary/Extended Day, Junior Level, and Upper Level/Middle School. A delicious and healthy snack is provided in all programs.

Our Primary/Extended Day and Junior Level After School programs consist of child-initiated, open-ended activities, and teacher designed and directed projects. These range from art, music or movement based activities to cooking and building projects. Outside play is a daily component of After School, weather permitting.

Upper Level and Middle School students begin their afternoon with a 30 minute recess, either on the Field of Dreams or in our multi-purpose room. This is followed by an hour of focused homework time. Junior Level Lions are eligible for “homework club” by request of a parent and approval of their classroom teacher.

Each child’s readiness and individual needs are taken into consideration for acceptance in the After School program. Please be aware that our discipline policy is slightly different than during the school day. When a child has broken a rule during our After School program, they are asked to correct the behavior. If they are unable to do so, or the behavior is recurrent, the student will be asked to miss a day of After School in order to work with parents on altering their behavior. If the problem persists, the child may be asked to leave the program.
