As a child, Julie attended Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School, where she first learned about Maria Montessori and the work of being a peacekeeper. Many years later, Julie became a trained elementary guide through Montessori Northwest and started her career at EACMSI as an Upper Level Teacher.
Before she took her Montessori training, Julie worked with children in a variety of learning environments such as summer camps, swim lessons, and classrooms abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico and Athens, Greece where she volunteered between college. She attended Ithaca College and received a BFA in Studio Art with minors in Anthropology and Art History, while representing the school on the Women’s Rowing, Basketball, and Track teams. Julie completed her AMI Elementary training at Montessori Northwest in 2015, and obtained her Master’s in Elementary Education from Loyola University in the summer of 2016.
In her free time Julie enjoys hiking, sudoku, making a variety of art, pickup basketball, reading, and playing piano which she is learning in EAC’s band. She is thrilled to teach art and PE at EACMSI and looks forward, every year, to sharing in the joys of discovery and exploration with this wonderful community. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
