Shortly after Memorial Day, during the last two full weeks of school, children and adults come together to pursue mutual interests in groupings not predicated by age or class placement.

Mini-courses are an opportunity for adults in our community–teachers, parents, alumnae–to share their passions with children.

Offerings are sometimes based on a profession, but often are crafted based on a much loved hobby. Children peruse the “Mini-Course Booklet” to see what options are available, and then make requests based on their preferences. What ensues are 14 mornings when clusters of children ranging in age from 5 to 13 gather together with an adult to work, play and create.  Past mini-courses have ranged from scuba diving, to tennis, to earth art, to making smoothies. It is our way to channel the end of school energy into a productive and fun alternative for all.
