History & Geography
At EAC, history lessons begin with overarching concepts, and gradually zoom in over time. History and geography are part of the cosmic curriculum, commencing with the birth of our universe.
Science & Technology
The study of classical subjects in science: biology, physics, chemistry, and geology begin with hands-on lessons in our Primary classrooms. We introduce topics typically considered too advanced for small children thus preparing them for a lifetime of discovery.
Our Campus
EAC is beautiful: situated high on South Hill, we overlook pastoral fields and Cayuga Lake. Our track, Tea House, pond, playing fields, meadows, gardens, and woods entice children to explore and connect with the natural world.
Mission & Philosophy
At EAC, we educate children to create the future we envision: an engaged, interconnected and peaceful world. We do so by maximizing each individual’s unique potential while centering the needs of the community overall.
School History
The Montessori School of Ithaca was founded in 1979 by Andrea Blitzer and Carol Hill. Their goal was to transform the world by educating children in an atmosphere that promoted respect and dignity for all.
School Trips
As children grow, the offerings available in the classroom are no longer enough to satisfy their needs. “Going out” intensifies instruction as children witness and experience first-hand what is out in their community.
