At the Middle School Level, seminar-style discussions are a fundamental component of the learning process in many academic areas.

Students complete readings and prepare written materials in advance.  During the seminar, students actively participate in an exploration of the central themes and ideas found in these materials.  The goal of the process is to engage in a “shared inquiry” in which all voices are heard, and teachers and students alike are partners in the process of determining “truth” and reaching new understandings.
